ART for first responders

Focused work for what the job can leave behind.

Jessica Krohn, LCSW, works with first responders and public-safety professionals and may use ART for distressing memories or trauma-related reactions when clinically appropriate.

Public-safety work

Critical incidents are not the only source of stress.

Fire, EMS, law enforcement, corrections, dispatch/communications, and related roles can involve both acute incidents and cumulative exposure over time.

Focused ART option

ART may be considered when a particular incident, image, or reaction remains distressing. It does not require a detailed verbal retelling of the event.

Broader therapy remains available

Not every concern needs ART. Therapy may also focus on coping, sleep, relationships, burnout, grief, values, or behavior patterns.
